How many of you had bad online classes during the pandemic? Sitting in front of the screen in your pyjamas, eating cereal while the teacher talked on Teams and nobody listened?
At Native English we’ve been experimenting with different tools for a few years to make the classes more active. One of our favourites is Padlet, and anyone who’s been in our online classes will be familiar with it. It’s excellent for brainstorming and keeping everyone active in the lesson.
It’s also useful for vocabulary work. Have a look at this matching exercise for lower levels. It’s also a brainstorming exercise, where everybody contributes. That way people with stronger vocabulary can suggest words and other students learn from them.

Here’s another vocabulary matching exercise for C1.

We use other tools, of course, so I’ll post something about these soon….
